About Peugeot 307
The Peugeot 307 is a C-segment compact car from the French manufacturer PSA (now Stellantis). It was launched in 2001 as a replacement for the Peugeot 306. It ceased to be sold in Europe in 2008, while in Argentina and China it continued to be sold until 2011 and 2014 respectively.
The 307 was available in several body styles. The standard one, which was a hatchback, the sedan version (only available in Asia and South America), the cabriolet/coupé version (307 CC), and finally the station wagon or estate (307 SW).
It was built on the PSA PF2 platform, shared with vehicles like the Citroën Xsara Picasso. In fact, the station wagon version of the 307 was an attempt by PSA to completely dominate the territory colonized by the Picasso. The 307 SW was the first Peugeot vehicle to carry that moniker, and had the peculiarity of being able to transform into a 7-seater minivan. Despite this, it failed to steal market share from Citroën's compact MPV.
The 307, as had been customary for Peugeot at the time, only had 1 generation, although it did have 2 phases or restylings. It was succeeded by the Peugeot 308 in 2008. The 307 had a multitude of alternatives in its era, with rivals such as the Volkswagen Golf V, the Ford Focus, the Opel Astra H, the Renault Megane II, or the Citroën C4, with which it shared most of its components as it was a car from the same automotive group.
