About Peugeot 407
The Peugeot 407 is a D-segment passenger car from the French manufacturer PSA (currently Stellantis). It went on sale in 2004, succeeding the Peugeot 406. It was sold in sedan, station wagon, and coupé body styles, with both gasoline and diesel engines. It received 5 out of 5 stars in the EuroNCAP test in both its coupé and sedan versions. It used the PSA PF3 platform, shared with the Citroën C5, the Citroën C6, and finally by its successor, the Peugeot 508, by which it would be replaced starting in 2011.
As is usual for Peugeot, the 407 only had one generation, although across several body styles, the 407 had phase I and phase II. The model's redesign arrived mid-cycle, in 2008. Regarding safety, the 407 scored 5 out of 5 stars in the EuroNCAP crash tests.
The convertible coupé model arrived in 2006. It was the successor to the Peugeot 406 coupé. After this sports car, Peugeot would not make another coupé / cabriolet for its D-segment vehicles. Therefore, it can be considered that the successor to both the 307cc and the 407cc is the Peugeot RCZ.
The competitors of the 407 were varied, such as the Ford Mondeo, Renault Laguna, Opel Vectra, Opel Insignia, Toyota Avensis, Volkswagen Passat, or its sibling, the Citroën C5.
