About Peugeot 308
The Peugeot 308 is a C-segment compact car manufactured by the French maker PSA (Stellantis). It was unveiled and put on sale in 2007 as the successor to the Peugeot 307. It is the first Peugeot car in the X08 series, and was developed under the code "Project T7". The 308 is a car sold mainly in hatchback body styles (3 and 5 doors in the first generation) and 5 doors starting from the second. There are also estate or station wagon versions, called SW in Peugeot's nomenclature (Station Wagon), as well as a Coupé / Cabriolet version called the Peugeot 308 CC. There is also a Sedan version that is only available in the Chinese market. The 308 has also served as the basis for creating the Peugeot 3008, a compact SUV based on a variation of its chassis.
The Peugeot 308 is a car well-regarded by consumers, quite the opposite of its predecessor, the 307, whose launch was fraught with problems and was the most returned vehicle in the brand's history. The second generation of the 308 won the Car of the Year award in 2014. In addition, its first-generation HDi version holds the Guinness World Record for the mass-market vehicle with the best fuel efficiency, averaging 3.13 liters per 100 kilometers.
Starting from the third generation, the Peugeot 308 began sharing its platform with the Opel Astra L and the Peugeot 408, the brand's new coupé SUV as of 2022.
The Peugeot 308 has no shortage of competitors. Particularly noteworthy are the Ford Focus, Opel Astra, Renault Megane, Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, and Mazda 3, among many others. There have been a total of three generations of this automobile.
