About PEUGEOT RIFTER
The Peugeot Rifter is a utility van from the French manufacturer PSA (Stellantis). The Rifter is the passenger version of the Peugeot Partner van starting from its third generation. It is the continuation of the Partner Ludospace or Partner Tepee models. It was born in 2018.
The Peugeot Rifter is a vehicle identical to the Citroen Berlingo III in its passenger or MPV version. It uses the PSA EMP2 platform, shared with the Peugeot 308 among many other vehicles from the French manufacturer. PSA also manufactures the Opel Combo D (following the acquisition of Opel in 2018) using the same base, chassis, and bodywork. Since 2019, the Toyota ProAce City is also a member of this family thanks to agreements between PSA and the Japanese manufacturer.
The differences between equivalent versions of this "PSA Small Van" are minimal. Some elements and lines of the bodywork and interior equipment stand out. The Rifter is available with several packages, such as Active, Allure, and GT. In 2020, a limited special series called Style was added.
It is equipped with 1.2-liter PureTech gasoline and BlueHDI diesel engines. Both engines are sold with outputs of up to 130 hp. The available gearboxes are 5-speed and 6-speed for versions with manual transmission or 8-speed for the automatic (EAT8).
The fact that PSA decided to spin off this model outside of the Peugeot Partner family seems to have paid off. The vehicle enjoys a good image and is even gaining a strong reputation in the camper van world due to its size and performance. The Peugeot Rifter primarily competes with the longer versions of the Renault Kangoo.
