Peugeot 5008: timing chain or timing belt information

About Peugeot 5008

The Peugeot 5008 is a C/D-segment SUV manufactured by the French company PSA (Stellantis). However, it has 2 generations, and during the first generation, the Peugeot 5008 was a C-segment MPV.

The first-generation Peugeot 5008 was an MPV that used the same platform as the Citroen C4 Picasso (PF2). It used the same range of engines and gearbox as the Peugeot 3008. In fact, this vehicle is considered to be nothing more than a longer version of it. Despite the name, it is a smaller vehicle than the Peugeot 4007. It was sold between 2009 and 2013. Its competitors were notably the Renault Grand Scénic, the Volkswagen Touran, the Opel Zafira, and the Ford Grand C-Max.

The second generation of the Peugeot 5008 would abandon the MPV concept and become a mid-size SUV. It arrived in 2017 and is a 7-seater version of the Peugeot 3008. It is based on the PSA EMP2 platform, thus sharing its base with quite a few PSA Group cars, such as the Citroen C4 Picasso, the 308, the Peugeot Traveller, the DS 7 Crossback, or even the Toyota Proace.

There have been a total of two generations of this vehicle. Among its competitors are the Volkswagen Tiguan, Seat Tarraco, Nissan X-Trail, Renault Koleos, and the Ford Kuga, among many others. Due to its peculiar size, it competes both against large C-segment SUVs and against models considered to be in the D-SUV segment.
