About PEUGEOT 4007

The Peugeot 4007 is a C-segment SUV or crossover vehicle from the French manufacturer PSA (currently Stellantis). It has been produced since 2007 at the Mitsubishi Motors facilities in Okazaki. It was built on the platform of the second-generation Mitsubishi Outlander (Mitsubishi GS Platform). In addition, PSA produced another version under the Citroën brand, the C-Crosser. It was succeeded by the Peugeot 4008 in late 2011.

The 4007, along with the C-Crosser, became the first French vehicles manufactured by a Japanese company. The collaboration also allowed them to be sold with engines from both brands. The 2.0 gasoline engine was from PSA and the 2.4 was built by Mitsubishi. Regarding diesel engines, the 4007 featured two variants of the 2.2-liter DW12 HDi. This engine originated from another collaboration between PSA and Ford and is also present in vehicles like the Land Rover Freelander 2.

It was marketed with various trim levels, SE (the standard version), Sport XS, and GT. All versions featured 6-speed gearboxes, one of which was a dual-clutch transmission.

Sales of the 4007, however, were not to PSA's liking. Barely 50,000 units were sold between 2009 and 2012. After a new attempt with the Peugeot 4008, Peugeot's true success in the SUV range would come years later with the Peugeot 3008.
