About Peugeot 3008

The Peugeot 3008 is a compact C-segment car from the French manufacturer PSA (Stellantis).

The first generation of the 3008 (2009-2016) was based on the PF2 platform, shared with other PSA models such as the Peugeot 308 or the Citroën C4. It offered diesel and gasoline engines, with power outputs ranging from 110 to 163 hp. In 2011, a 200 hp diesel hybrid version was launched.

The second-generation Peugeot 3008 arrived in 2016, now as a compact SUV. The vehicle was equipped with high-quality equipment and infotainment systems and features to compete with premium rival vehicles such as the Range Rover Evoque. It also utilized PSA's EMP2 platform, shared with cars like the Peugeot 5008, Peugeot Rifter, Citroen C4 Picasso, Opel Grandland X, DS 7 Crossback, and Toyota Proace, among many others. Its main difference compared to the Peugeot 5008 is its size; despite sharing a platform and a multitude of components, the larger sibling is capable of accommodating up to 7 seats inside, as well as a more spacious trunk. In markets like China, this new SUV model is marketed as the Peugeot 4008. The reason is that the first-generation MPV continued to be produced and sold. Therefore, the model was renamed to avoid confusion.

The most recent model is the third generation, launched in 2024. It debuts the Stellantis group's STLA Medium platform, prepared for electrification. The design changes completely, especially the rear with a heavily sloped rear window following Peugeot's new brand identity. The interior also debuts an evolution of the i-Cockpit, featuring a completely digital 21-inch dashboard.

Regarding engines, the 3008 III is only available with hybrid and electric powertrains. The range includes 48V mild-hybrid versions with the 136 hp PureTech gasoline engine; a 195 hp plug-in hybrid combining a gasoline and electric engine; and 100% electric variants with up to 320 hp with dual motors and all-wheel drive.

There have been a total of three generations of this car to date. Some of the alternatives to the Peugeot 3008 are the Mazda CX-5, the Honda CR-V, the Toyota RAV4, the Seat Ateca, the Renault Austral, the Kia Sportage, and the Hyundai Tucson, among many others.
