About CITROEN C4
The Citroën C4 is a C-segment compact car from the French manufacturer PSA (Stellantis). It has been produced since 2004 as a replacement for the Citroën Xsara. Mechanically, it shares platforms and components with the Peugeot 308. During its first two generations, the Citroën C4 was sold with hatchback and sedan body styles (although some sedan or saloon versions, such as the C4 L, are only available in very specific markets). Starting with the third generation, the C4 changed radically and became a much taller hatchback, considered practically an SUV. This model uses the PSA EMP1 platform, also called the Common Modular Platform, which is the one that all PSA and FCA vehicles (now Stellantis) are going to use, similar to the Volkswagen Group's MQB platform.
In addition, this third version includes versions with an electric powertrain called the Citroën ë-C4.
The Citroën C4 has traditionally competed with other compact vehicles in its category such as the Renault Mégane, the Fiat Tipo, the Ford Focus, or the Opel Astra, among many other options offered by the market. Starting from the third generation, it could be considered that the new C4 competes against other equivalent SUVs such as the Kia Niro. There are only 3 generations of the C4 so far.
