About CITROEN XSARA
The Citroen Xsara is a compact car in C-segment from the French manufacturer PSA (Stellantis). It was launched in 1997 as the successor to the Citroën ZX. It only had one generation and was eventually replaced in 2004 by the Citroën C4. The Xsara was sold in hatchback (3 and 5-door) and station wagon body styles. The latter was marketed for two more years, since the Citroën C4 never had a station wagon body.
The Xsara went through several phases undergoing various design changes, equipment alterations, and the introduction of new engine ranges. Based on this vehicle, the Citroën Xsara Picasso MPV was also created, which was a complete success.
Part of the Xsara's development was shared with the Peugeot 306, although this model was much more successful and enjoyed a better reputation for reliability. Among the Xsara's competitors, the Ford Focus, the Renault Megane, the Opel Astra, the Seat León, and the Volkswagen Golf stood out among many others.
