About CITROEN JUMPY
The Citroen Jumpy is a mid-size van manufactured by Sevel Nord, a 50-50 joint venture between PSA and Fiat. Production of this van began in 1994, and it now spans a total of 3 generations. Historically, the model has been sold under the Peugeot and Fiat brands, although Opel and Toyota have also joined in recent years. In the United Kingdom, this van is marketed as the Citroën Dispatch.
The first generation of the Citroen Jumpy was introduced in 1994. It was also marketed as the Fiat Scudo and Peugeot Expert with minimal changes. Structurally, these vans shared quite a few elements with the Sevel Eurovans, namely the Peugeot 806, the Citroen Evasion, Fiat Ulysse, and Lancia Zeta. This generation was updated in 2004 with better headlights and a minor exterior facelift.
In 2006, the second generation arrived, featuring a more updated style and more modern engines. The van was updated in 2012, and a rebranded Toyota version, the Toyota ProAce, was also launched. That same year, Fiat sold its shares in Sevel Nord to PSA to begin manufacturing vans with Renault, an adventure that did not last very long, as its conglomerate (FCA) would end up merging with PSA in 2020.
The third and current generation of the Citroën Jumpy was launched in 2016, and is sold under multiple names:
This generation also saw the addition of the first electric and hydrogen variants, although diesel versions, which are much more widespread and economical, continued to be sold.
Among the alternatives to the Citroen Jumpy are other mid-size vans such as the Renault Trafic, Ford Transit Custom, or Volkswagen Transporter.
