About CITROEN BX
The Citroën BX is a D-segment passenger car manufactured by Citroën (PSA). Designed by Marcello Gandini, the model was produced between 1982 and 1994 at the factories in Rennes, France, and Vigo, Spain. The BX succeeded the Citroën GS and was replaced years later by the Citroën Xantia. The model was sold during a single generation, although it did have two phases. It had liftback and estate body styles.
The first phase of the BX (1982-1986) stood out for its angular design and steeply sloped rear window. It offered various engines, ranging from simple petrol mechanics to modern turbodiesels. Starting in 1986, the French manufacturer introduced a version with various aesthetic changes. Some new petrol engines were added, while mechanical and equipment improvements were also offered.
The alternatives to the Citroën BX were the Ford Sierra, the Opel Ascona, the Peugeot 405, and the Renault 21, among many others.
