The Peugeot 408 (also known as Peugeot 408 GT or Peugeot 408 X) is a C-segment crossover. It is what we currently know as a 'Coupe SUV'. It is PSA's answer to competing vehicles like the Renault Arkana. However, the group developed the car for 7 years prior to its launch.

The 408 Crossover is a vehicle that sits halfway between the Peugeot 308 and the 3008. It is based on the group's EMP2 platform. Its design is also shared with the Citroën C5 X. Thanks to the shape of its body, the 408 achieves a low aerodynamic drag coefficient of 0.28, identical to that obtained by traditional sedans.

This crossover features a 5-door liftback body. Regarding powertrains, the 408 Crossover exclusively features gasoline versions. They stand out for their hybrid engines incorporating a 12.4 kWh battery.
