Hyundai Kona — TIMING CHAIN OR BELT?

MODEL LIST - (UPDATED 2023)

| Home / Hyundai / List of Hyundai Kona Models without Timing Belt

The Hyundai Kona is a subcompact SUV (B-segment in Europe) manufactured by the South Korean marque Hyundai. The Kona is Hyundai’s proposal to replace the minivans of that segment, placing a Crossover as a replacement for the ix20. This SUV has been on sale since 2017 and is sold with gasoline, diesel, hybrid and electric engines. The electrified version is called “Hyundai Kona EV” and has been available since 2018.

The Kona’s platform is designed specifically for it and Hyundai and Kia’s intention has since been to build the next generation of electric vehicles with the Kona’s architecture as a starting point. The Kona competes with several SUVs in its segment, such as the Peugeot 2008, Opel Mokka, Fiat 500X, Renault Captur and Citroen C4 Cactus.

There is only one generation of this crossover. There is also a new Hyundai model, the Hyundai Bayon, designed to be a more affordable vehicle than the Kona, but in the same segment. In some markets, Hyundai does not market the Kona, but instead markets the Hyundai Creta or Hyundai ix25.
