About OPEL TIGRA
The Opel Tigra is a sports car produced by General Motors under the German brand Opel. In the United Kingdom it was marketed as the Vauxhall Tigra, while in Australia it was sold as the Holden Tigra and in other countries as the Chevrolet Tigra. The Tigra has a total of 2 generations.
The first generation of the Opel Tigra arrived in 1997 and was based on the same platform as the Opel Corsa B (GM4200). It is a 2-door coupe and had very few competitors, since not many manufacturers ventured into producing a coupe starting from a B-segment vehicle. The only exception could be the Ford Puma.
The second generation, or Opel Tigra B, was launched in 2004 and is called the Opel / Vauxhall Tigra Twin Top. Unlike the original model, this one had a metal roof, being able to change from convertible to coupe electronically and storing itself in the trunk. In this version there was a diesel version, developed jointly between the Fiat Group and Opel. This model did have greater competition, notably the Peugeot 206cc, the Peugeot 207cc, the Nissan Micra C+C, or the Mini Cabrio.
