OPEL SINTRA: timing chain or timing belt information

About OPEL SINTRA

The Opel Sintra is a large MPV or large minivan of the D-segment from the German brand Opel. It was produced by General Motors between 1996 and 1999.

The Opel Sintra formed the second generation of vehicles with the "U-body" platform, whose internal code was GMX110s. It had a transverse front engine and front-wheel drive. It was sold as the Vauxhall Sintra in the United Kingdom, remaining as the Opel Sintra for the rest of the European market. However, the Opel Sintra was actually an import. The original model on which the Sintra is based was sold in the United States under the Chevrolet, Oldsmobile, and Pontiac brands: the Chevrolet Venture, Pontiac Trans Sport, and Oldsmobile Silhouette.

Despite its short distribution period, the Opel Sintra managed to be the largest minivan to reach the European market at the time, surpassing DaimlerChrysler's Chrysler Voyager. In addition to that rival, other alternatives to the Opel Sintra were the Volkswagen Sharan, the Ford Galaxy, the Seat Alhambra, the Renault Espace, and the contemporary Sevel Eurovans, namely the Peugeot 806, the Citroen Evasion, the Fiat Ulysse, and the Lancia Zetta.
